Sedation Dentistry

Sedation Dentistry

At Limelight Dental, we know that many patients are anxious about seeing a dentist and hearing the dreaded sound of the drill… We don’t take it personally!

However, helping you feel comfortable and relaxed in the chair is an essential part of our service. Although we have a welcoming reception and kid-friendly waiting area, we know that those efforts alone don’t cure dental phobia.

Please let us know if you of your child suffer from dental phobia, so that we can provide you with sedation dentistry at your next appointment. Our sedation options will lessen your anxiety, reduce pain and help you achieve a sense of calm during your dental procedures. There’s no reason why anxiety should prevent you from achieving your perfect smile.

At Limelight Dental, we offer the following types of sedation dentistry:

Oral conscious sedation

Your Limelight dentist will prescribe an oral medication for you to take at a specific time prior to your appointment. The medication will help you enter a deep state of relaxation, but you will be awake during the procedure.

Nitrous Oxide sedation

If you choose this option, your dentist will first ensure you’re comfortable in your chair before placing a mask with nitrous oxide over your nose. After a few minutes of breathing in the gas, you should feel calm and the procedure can start. You will recover very quickly after the procedure. This option is completely safe for adults and children alike.

IV sedation

In cases of severe dental anxiety, we can administer IV sedation, which will place you in a state of “twilight sleep” during your procedure. The intravenous application can be adjusted throughout the procedure to keep you feeling safe and comfortable.

Safe Transportation

As with all forms of sedation, we would encourage you to ask someone to transport you to Limelight Dental and stay with you until the sedation wears off. We can also arrange transfers upon request.

Please speak to our kind and helpful administrators about scheduling your sedation dentistry appointment and arrange your transportation transfers today.
